The waste management industry is not ageing gracefully. The industry is ready for change. But it’s hard for companies to find the balance between efficiency, transparency and sustainability. The greatest challenge seems to be that change is next to impossible from within the industry itself.
Joost Kamermans and Jorn Eiting van Liempt got talking about waste at one of Aimforthemoon’s community events. Discussing the problem, they agreed that the greatest problem with waste is that it exists at all. The two saw an opportunity that was too good to pass up. The rest is history in the making.

- Seenons team growth: to 150+ in 3 years
Seeonons has a platform that connects all the players in the waste chain; organizations that separate waste, logistics companies that transport the waste, and processors & producers who use waste to create valuable new materials and products. All contribute to reducing waste and stimulating the circular economy.
New Business Model
We guided Seenons from idea to MVP that turned into a software platform that gives new value to cardboard, PET, glass, coffee residue, PMD, GFT, and orange peel. And building collaborations with corporate partners including Renewi, Rabobank, Amsterdam Smart City, KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association), and Yoghurt Barn.
“I am convinced that in 10 years, we’ll think differently about waste than we do today. We are investing in a platform that can deal with waste in the most affordable and sustainable way. And on the way, actively remove the double incentives which have defined the waste industry in the past.”Joost KamermansCo-founder, Seenons
